ARTICLE NUMBER PAL146 Description A massive sound with full projection and a rich, resonant sound, combined with a fine, crisp snare response. In order to maintain this sound, the Japanese company Tama donated the Starphonic snare drums a new hoop, lugs and lift-off design, mounted on a selection of uniquely constructed shells. Perhaps the most important innovations are the "Freedom Lugs" and the "Claw Hooks": Thanks to the new design, the clamping claws can simply be folded away to the side after slightly loosening the screws. In this way, the "Grooved Hoop" can be quickly removed and reassembled, which enables an extremely quick and uncomplicated skin change. This system is further refined by a quickly detachable butt end to speed up changing the reso head. The fine adjustments of the snare carpet remain 100%, no further fine adjustment is necessary.
